AA Riding Pants

Hi, hope everyone's doing well. I decided to do another outfit post today (mid rain showers) of one of my 'everyday/college' outfits. This consists of my American Apparel riding pants, which I got last Christmas, a simple grey polo neck top from Urban Outfitters, and chunky chelsea boots from New Look (similar).

I have accesorized this outfit with a three chain necklace from Topshop (as seen in previous blogposts) and a tan leather back pack, which I got when I was on holiday in Ibiza. If your ever on holiday in Ibiza would highly reccommend Las Dalias market - they sell some beautiful leather goods, traditional Ibizian wear and lots more. I quite often buy my leather bags abroad because they are a lot cheaper than leather at home and are more unique.

As my jacket I wore a floral bomber jacket purchased from a vintage fair which took place in one of the local universitys. I fell in love with this as soon as I saw it because of it's lovely print and versatility.

If your interested in vintage wear look out for fairs in your area they tend to be so much cheaper than the average vintage shop and hold a wide range of unique pieces. (I think I got the bomber jacket for something like £10 - total bargin!)

I've been really loving the AA riding pants, they are really versatile and easy to wear. They are really good quality as well, I'd even say I prefered them to jeans.

Thanks for reading, speak soon....

Vintage Renewal

On a recent day out to Durham I decided to take some blog photos because the weather was so lovely. My outfit consists of Vintage levi shorts paired with a high neck leapard print cami top, these items are both from a local vintage shop in the centre of Newcastle named Deep Vintage. I have loved Deep since it opened because I really like how they use vintage clothes and remake them into more dynamic, modern styles.

You will be able to find similar Levi shorts to mine in charity and vintage shops in your area. I recommend keeping a lookout for local vintage fairs which quite often hold events at hotels, theatres and unis - I find these a lot cheaper than the standard vintage shop. Try to stay clear of buying things like vintage levis from shops such as Urban Outfitters because they tend to be alot more expensive. I tend to find when I buy vintage Levi shorts that they cut them quite long so I normally take it upon myself to cut them a bit shorter and fray them or turn them up at the bottom.

I accessorized my outfit with a pair of patent leather tortoise shell loafers which I got in the sale in Urban Outfitters a while back for £5. (BARGAIN!)
I am loving scrunchies at the moment (even though they make me look about 5) so I wore a leapard scrunchie, again from Urban Outfitters.

OOTD: Another monochrome post

Hi again, hope you's are all doing well. Yesterday, whilst out on a catch up with two of my friends I found the perfect spot to do a quick OOTD post. My outfit consists of my recently purchased aztec aline skirt paired with a simple black turtle neck, heavy duty boots and my electric blue satchel for a colour pop.

Turtle Neck - Primark
Tights - Primark

Skirt - Topshop

I have found this skirt perfect for day to day wear, because it is very easy to wear and style. However it is the perfect seperate because it can also be dressed up for a nightime event, with a black cami and a pair of heels.

At the moment when shopping I am trying to buy clothes that can be worn both dressy and casual, which is why I tend to go for seperates. I find there is nothing worse than spending lots of money on a dressy dress you will only wear once.

Necklace - Topshop
Lipstick - Taupe by MAC

Boots - Office (similar)

I'm not exaggerating when I say i haven't taken these boots off since i bought them last September (which explains why they desperatly need re-heeling). They are not only the most comfortable shoes ever, but they also go with basically everything I own, they are definitely one of my best buys.

Satchel - Cambridge Satchel Company

Denim shirt - Urban Renewal at Urban Outfitters

I opted for my vintage renewal denim shirt as my jacket as it was quite a warm day up north. This dressed down my outfit giving it a more casual vibe and a slouchy finish. You will be able to find a vintage shirt like this in charity/vintage shops in your local area, it took me a while to find a one that was exactly what I wanted (vintage clothing is all about just having a good rumage until you find something that catches your eye.)

Thank you for taking time to read this blog post, I'd love to hear any feedback.

Retro: MAC Lipstick Review

Lipstick - Retro MAC Cosmetics

Hi again, hope you's are all doing well. I had intended to do another outfit post today, but because of the awful English weather i was unable to (will do it next week instead) instead i decided to do a quick review of one of my favourite lipstick's at the moment.

This lipstick is Retro by Mac, it is one of their satin finish lipsticks. I rarely go a day without applying lipstick, so my favourite lipstick varies quite a lot, but since the day I purchased this I have worn it constantly. As you can see from the image below it is quite a browny colour, but on your lips it also has a slight purple/maroon undertone, which is what i loved about it because purple and browns are the colours i usually go for (best of both worlds). This is quite an understated dark shade, so if you are wanting to try out a darker lipstick but are a bit apprehensive this would be a perfect shade for you to try.

Although it is a satin finish lipstick, i would say on your lips it looks like a matte finish, but has a lovely smooth texture, which a matte lipstick often lacks. I find this colour extremly wearable during the day but also on a night out, with a smokey eye and liner. It's a really easy shade to wear because it is very longlasting, so doesn't need to be re-applied often (bonus!).

Appologies for the blurriness my camera wouldn't focus properly (grr)

MAC is a high-end lipstick brand so it's price of £15 is a bit steep but i would say it's well worth the money because it's longlasting and versatile, A colour that would suit all.

Here i am wearing the lipstick

Necklace - Topshop (last year)
Top - Urban outfitters

Thank you for taking time to read this review, i hope it was helpful. I would love any feedback as this was the first beauty product review i have done :)

Monochrome Madness

Had to take photos inside due to
foggy and rainy weather ( bad times :( )

I wanted to steer away from wearing all black which I did quite often during the winter, so the alternative I'm loving at the moment is monochrome. I couldn't wait to get my white jeans out again as soon as the weather turned a bit nicer, pairing them with a simple high-neck black cami and my new jelly sandals. Because my outfit is primarily black and white I wanted to add a colour pop so I added a green chain necklace as a statement.

Jacket - All Saints (bought years ago from a discount store)
Necklace - Topshop Topshop (similar)
Satchel - Cambridge Satchel Company
Sandals - Urban Outfitters
Socks - Urban Outfitters (similar)
White Jeans - Topshop
Black cami - Urban Outfitters

Sorry for the paleness
Lipstick - Chilli by Mac
Thank you for taking time to read this post; I really hope you liked it! I would  love to hear any feed back as i am new to the blogging world.

First things first

I have been meaning to start a blog for over a year now, and if I'm honest i can't believe I've actually just sat down and started it. So.. my names Kristin, 16 living in Newcastle, studying Art and Design at college. I have aspirations for a career in fashion but my indecisive ways mean I haven't quite decided exactly what i want to do as of yet.

I don't really have much to say about myself other than I adore anything black and I always have statement lips and my usual cat flicked eyes. If it has anything to do with shopping, eating or art I'm there.

I hope you will all take pleasure in reading my blog which will mainly focus on fashion with sometimes the odd beauty review. I'd love it if you followed my blog and gave any feedback as I am a bit of a nun when it comes to the blogging world!
